Costco’s Beer and Wine Advent Calendars Are Coming Back for Christmas

It’s not even Halloween yet, but we’re already looking forward to some Christmastime drinking. And, like always, Costco has got our backs. And not just with their endless supply of Kirkland wine.

For 2021, Costco’s wine advent calendar is back and so is the beer version, reminding us once again that the perfect way to countdown to Christmas is through the gift of alcohol. Last year there were two versions of the wine advent calendar, but there’s just the one this year, so that’s one less decision you have to make. (The pink looks great, dear.)

Each advent calendar comes with 24 half bottles of either beer or wine. Each bottle in the beer calendar is 16.9 oz. Since drinking a bottle a night for 24 days straight seems just a smidge excessive, the wine calendar uses 375mL half bottles.

Costco’s Wine Advent Calendar

The Wine Advent-ure calendar is made by Flying Blue Imports, with international wine that highlight a wide range of varietals from Zinfandels to Brut champagne. All which pair well with roast goose or whatever it is you’re serving for the holidays.

If you really want to bring out your inner sommelier, make sure to check out their website to see a full description of each wine, including the wine profile, its blend setting, and the wine tasting process. We just go with the standard “this tastes good” that works for everything but merlot.

Some of the wines in the advent calendar include:

  • Strut King Chardonnay
  • Octopada Macabeo
  • Timok River Riesling
  • West Cape Gold Cabernet Savignon
  • Luna Brillante Red Blend
  • Ode Couple Fernão Pires
  • Shadow Dance Chenin Blanc
  • Azzimato Montepulciano

Costco’s Beer Advent Calendar

Kalea created Costco’s Brewer’s Advent Calendar and every year, the selection includes exclusive European brews. Highlights for this year include the Zwönitzer Steinbier and the Ladenburger Weizenbock. Prost!

When can I get Costco’s Beer and Wine Advent Calendars?

Some Costco’s already have the calendars on the shelf, because it is almost time for Michael Buble to come out of hibernation. The Brewer’s Advent Calendar retails at $59.99 and the Wine Advent Calendar retails at $99.99.
