Starbucks is spicing up their coffee with two fiery concoctions infused with hot honey. It seems everything is spicy these days and Starbucks is joining the trend with their Hot Honey Espresso Martini and Hot Honey Affogato.

The two new drinks will be available exclusively at Starbucks Reserve Roasteries in New York City, Chicago, and Seattle and, according to the brand, are a “sweet and spicy twist on signature classics.” It’s their take on the food trend “swicy.”

The first is a Hot Honey Espresso Martini.

It uses Starbucks Reserve Espresso, Kalak Single Malt Vodka, vanilla syrup, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur, and a drizzle of hot honey. Topped with a tantalizingly spicy cold foam and garnished with black sesame seeds, this martini delivers a one-of-a-kind flavor experience.

Meanwhile, the Hot Honey Affogato is the dessert option.

It’s creamy vanilla gelato drenched in Starbucks Reserve Espresso and adorned with Scrappy’s Orange and Firewater Bitters, hot honey, and an Amarena cherry. It’s sort of like Fireball in desert form.

But the hot honey adventure doesn’t stop there. Starbucks enthusiasts can also add a touch of heat to savory menu items like Salame Piccante Pizza, Margherita Pizza, and Pancetta & Avocado Toast at select Reserve Roasteries.

And for those eager to explore the art of coffee mixology, the “It Started Here First” Signature Experience offers a hands-on opportunity to learn about these innovative drinks and more.

At $60 per person in Chicago, New York City, and Seattle, participants can delve into the world of Starbucks’ spirited creations, including the Hot Honey Affogato and other tantalizing offerings like the Oleato Deconstructed, an olive oil and lemon-laced beverage.

Whether this sweet and spicy trend will become a permanent fixture on Starbucks’ menu remains to be seen, but for now, coffee lovers can savor the excitement of this bold new flavor frontier.

Don’t live near a Roastery? Starbucks is hinting in their press release that there might be a new spicy menu item at all stores later this spring.
