Look, it’s not like we need another Starbucks cup. Once you’ve got one — or five — you probably are all set. But, for Starbucks collectors or anyone into dragons, you don’t want to miss the Year of the Dragon cups Starbucks is releasing to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
For 2024, the Lunar New Year starts on February 10, but the Starbucks Year of the Dragon collection will be available starting on January 3rd. The animal for the Lunar New Year changes each year, and this year, it’s the dragon.
According to the Chinese Zodiac, the dragon symbolizes luck, power, dominance, and ambition, while the wood element signifies growth, and creativity. It’s a year for making calm, bold moves and for going after what you want. Drinking from these cups can help subtly remind you this on a daily basis. Or many times a day if your coffee habits are anything like ours.
Most of these cups are available overseas and for those, we’ve listed Etsy or eBay sellers who carry them. But, there are also a few Year of the Dragon tumblers arriving at US Starbucks locations.
