It’s almost time for one of the biggest televised events – the February 12 Rihanna concert. And okay, it’s also sandwiched by the 2023 Super Bowl Sunday face-off between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. More importantly? It’ll be sprinkled with the best ads of the year: the Super Bowl commercials.
While we have to wait to see the best Super Bowl commercials of 2023 in full, many of the major brands have already dropped teasers ahead of the big game, including M&Ms who have been making quite a stir these days.
The best Super Bowl ad contenders feature everything from brands like PopCorners and Pepsi to Coors and Crown Royal. And, there’s plenty of celebrities making appearances. We’ve already spotted Dave Grohl, Alicia Silverstone, Ben Stiller, and of course, Maya Rudolph.
The Best Super Bowl Commercials (2023)
1. M&M’s: Maya Rudolph
Remember when a certain group of people got really offended by the sexy green M&M in heels? They went even further by not understanding that this ad showing Maya Rudolph renaming M&M’s to Ma&Ya’s is a complete joke.
Humor is not for everyone. And those people aren’t getting any of our Ma&Ya’s.

2. Rakuten: Cher Is Back
If you don’t already know about the online shopping rebate site Rakuten, you’re about to get a clue from the most famous shopaholic.
While you’re getting cash back on shopping, Rakuten’s cashing in on the 90s resurgence by having Alicia Silverstone reprise her role as Cher from the 1995 hit Clueless. What, no Paul Rudd?

3. Avocados From Mexico: Anna Faris As Eve In The Garden Of Eden
This teaser depicts Anna Faris as Eve in the Garden of Eve – eating an avocado – in her birthday suit.
The ad teases that “the world is about to get better” and we can only assume this means guac is no longer extra.

4. PopCorners: Breaking Soon
PopCorners has released two commercial teasers, featuring the stars of Breaking Bad Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, and their infamous RV.
If this ad was meant to inspire us rewatch Breaking Bad again, success! Sorry we’re gonna have to miss the Super Bowl this time guys.

5. Pringles: Made You Look
Don’t you hate when you’re practicing a viral TikTok dance and your arm gets stuck in the Pringles container? It’s only happened to us twice but that’s two times more than we expected.

6. Budweiser: SBLVII Six Degrees Of Bud
There are no Clydesdales in this one, but there is Kevin Bacon narrating and reintroducing the brand’s iconic tagline “This Bud’s For You.”
According to a press release, this commercial introduces their plans to focus on reaching a younger audience. Apparently they’re not discouraged by the most sober-curious generation, but we’re thinking there’s more than six degrees of separation between Gen Z and them picking up a Budweiser.

7. Doritos: The Love Triangle
What do Jack Harlow, Missy Elliott, and Doritos have in common? A love triangle apparently. Which just so happens to be the shape of a chip. How very “do you get the point?” of them.

8. Crown Royal: Dave Grohl Learns Something New
The teasers for this ad are a bit cryptic. So far we’ve seen Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters read a list of words, including peanut butter and Hawaiian pizza.
In a separate teaser, he’s shown saying “thank you” into a mic. We’re only assuming he’s thanking Canada for all its glorious inventions. And we’d like to add Ryan Reynolds to the list, Dave.

9. Bud Light: Hold
No one actually likes being stuck on hold, right? This commercial featuring Miles Teller, his real-life wife Keleigh Sperry, and their French Bulldog, proves that theory wrong.
They find themselves dancing to the hold music and happy about it. Apparently Bud Light makes anything bearable. It’s at least encouraged us to drink one the next time we’re putting away laundry.
10. Pepsi Zero Sugar: Ben Stiller And Steve Martin
The two comedic actors attempt to one up each other throughout this ad that seemingly has nothing to do with Pepsi Zero Sugar. But we do find out exactly how Ben Stiller and Steve Martin feel about each other.

11. Busch Light: Cold + Smooth Survival Skills
In the arms of an angel…you’ll find a Busch Light and Sarah McLachlan parodying her own super sad ASPCA commercials. You’re still gonna need your tissues for this one, but at least they’ll be tears of laughter instead of the most intense sadness you’ve ever felt.
12. Booking.com: Melissa McCarthy Gets Ready for The Big Game
Melissa McCarthy is always a treat and is shown getting pampered in this teaser in what we can only consider is a hotel she booked on Booking.com. But we’ll have to wait until Feb 12th to figure out exactly what they’re selling and let’s hope that “ham” isn’t it.
13. Michelob ULTRA: New Members Day
It may be shown during a football game, but Michelob Ultra is going all-in with a golf theme. This Caddyshack-inspired ad pits Serena Williams against Brian Cox (Succession).
We don’t necessarily have a desire to drink Michelob Ultra after watching it, but we do have a desire to play golf… never.
14. Squarespace: Backstage with Adam Driver
Squarespace knows what we all really want — more Adam Driver. And only Adam Driver.
15. Planters: Jeff Ross Gets Ready To Roast Mr. Peanut
What better person to promote roasted peanuts than the “RoastMaster General?”
16. FanDuel: Kick Of Destiny
This super-meta FanDuel commercial features former tight end and Super Bowl champ Rob Gronkowski. In it, Gronkowski receives a call from his agent to do a FanDuel Super Bowl commercial in which he will attempt to kick a field goal.
We’re still unsure if this is actually happening during the game or not.

17. Heineken 0.0: Ant Man And The Wasp
Heineken enlists Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star Paul Rudd in this ad about their non-alcoholic beer Heineken 0.0. Luckily Ant-Man can still save the day thanks to jumping on the latest sober drinking “trend.”
18. Experian: “Happy Guy” with John Cena
John Cena sings and dances unironically about FICO scores in this overly enthusiastic Experian commercial. It’s just simply a happy commercial about the joys of paying rent. The best part about having John Cena as your landlord? He doesn’t exist.

19. BIC EZ Reach: The Most Borrowed Lighter
William Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and Martha Stewart skirt around the NFL’s cannabis ad ban in this ridiculous commercial that is not at all about a lighter. The real question is — what kind of candles are those Martha?

20. Downy Unstopables: Guess The Celebrity
Downy Unstopables is supposed to keep your clothes fresh for over 12 weeks—from wash to wear.
It features an “unknown celeb” (we all know that’s Danny McBride right?) that keeps their face covered. By Super Bowl Sunday, this mysterious celebrity (McBride) will let us know if the 12-week freshness claim is true. We’re wondering if it still works if your clothes live on your floor.
